3D modelling for decorative and bespoke metal work.
3D modelling and workshop capabilities
Focal has always been of the impression that to be a part of award- winning homes, we need to be able to provide award winning products and services and we are always striving to improve our systems and processes.
We take decorative metal work seriously and offer a full in-house design service using Autodesk’s Inventor 3D modelling software. Rob, our draughtsman has a wealth of experience in production environments and can liaise with customers and work with them to come up with the ultimate solution for their project.
Architects and interior designers often come to use with ideas of the overall design intent of a project and from there, we can create models and drawing sets to send back for approval.
We know that these designs need to be correct and understand that there is back and forth with changes made to these drawings and that’s okay. Award winning homes are not generally done the easy way, but we try to make the design process as easy as possible to get correct results.
Once drawings are approved by our customer, Rob will create a full job package that is ready for one of our skilled metal fabricators to open on their Ipads. The job package includes full working drawings along with a job brief that gives them all the information that they need to get the job done to our customers’ specifications.
Cut files are nested and programmed into our CNC plasma by Rob to ensure that the layout is most efficient for the job and to minimize the need for fabricators to waste time programming.
As a part of the job package, sheet metal components will have full flat pattern drawings ensuring that the fabricator can easily program our CNC press brake and fold/bend items as they have been designed in Inventor.
Our job packages also include a quality control check list that our fabricators must fill out after every job with another fabricator signing off to ensure accountability from both involved.
